About Me

I first held a camera in 1960, that was a plastic Kodak Brownie that I took on a school trip to Bristol Zoo. In 1964 I got my first 35mm camera - a Werra 1, and learned how to develop and print Black & White film. About 1967 I was given a Praktika SLR which was a great improvement with the interchangable lenses. Having started earning money in 1970, working in the Mining Industry, I bought an Olympus OM1n and took every opportunity to photograph anything that moved and most things that did'nt.

The Olympus outfit lasted until 1992 when I started shooting Fashion Shows and found that my ability to focus in dim light was starting to creak. I decided to go autofocus and a Nikon 801 with suitable lenses fitted the bill. That outfit was used for everything from Industrial to Portrait and Sports photography and was reluctantly changed by the rise of the Digital Age.

I still use Nikon SLR's and lenses, producing prints up to A3 size on a Canon s9000, but sending special jobs to a Digital Photolab in Cardiff.

My decision to go "Full Time" was made due to the coming closure of Tower Colliery, and the fact that no-one seems to require a former mining surveyor's services.

I am usually available for shoots and cover local dogshows and events.

Contact me for further details, I will do my best to accommodate.
